The Gospels at a Glance

Have you ever thought about how strange some of their scenes in the Gospels really are? Jesus speaks in parables that leave people puzzled, touches those everyone else avoids, makes startling claims about Himself and performs miracles with significance beyond the immediate need in front of Him.

The Gospels at a Glance walks through the life and ministry of Jesus one episode at a time. Beginning with the Messiah and the virgin birth, it moves through His baptism, temptations, teaching, miracles and encounters with outsiders before following the Gospel story towards the Last Supper, crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. Each section offers the biblical references and enough context to help you understand where it fits in the wider story.

This resource includes:

• concise guides to key events in the life of Jesus
• references across Matthew, Mark, Luke and John
• background to familiar teachings and miracles
• sections on Christ’s identity, kingdom, death, resurrection and promised return
• connections between individual Gospel scenes and the larger story of salvation

A shared invitation

At Our Daily Bread Ministries, we want to help you meet Christ in the text of Scripture itself. We make resources like this freely available so that anyone can spend more thoughtful time in the Bible. If you choose to donate, your support helps us continue creating and sharing that material with others.
