The King of Christmas
The King of Christmas
We see more of the world’s leaders than any generation before us, yet they remain remote: mediated through screens, security cordons and carefully managed appearances. The Christmas story gives us a strikingly different picture of authority.
The King of Christmas considers Jesus as the ruler who chose proximity. Born without status or protection, raised for a time as a refugee and later encountered on ordinary roads among ordinary people, Christ exercised His authority by healing, welcoming, teaching and serving. The King who could command creation told His followers that He had come “not to be served, but to serve”.
The booklet follows that thread from Bethlehem to the cross and resurrection, showing why the Christian claim that Jesus is King also carries the promise that He is present with His people.
This resource includes:
- a short, accessible introduction to the identity of Jesus
- Scripture centred on God’s presence and kingship
- an invitation to know Christ personally
- further ways to continue reading the Bible over Christmas and into the New Year
