Jesus Light of the World

Christmas is full of borrowed light: candles, windows, street decorations and trees glowing against December darkness. Jesus, Light of the World takes that imagery back to its biblical source and to Christ’s own words: “I am the light of the world.”

Across ten Christmas reflections, the booklet follows the theme of light through Scripture. Jesus is presented as the One who enters human darkness, reveals God, brings forgiveness and life, and gives His people light by which to live while they wait for the final renewal He has promised. The opening reflection draws on the dramatic rescue of the Thai football team trapped in a flooded cave, using their first glimpse of a rescuer’s torch to illuminate the Bible’s language of Christ coming into our darkness.

This resource includes:

• ten Christmas reflections from Our Daily Bread
• Bible passages to read alongside each reflection
• questions for personal response
• prayers shaped by the day’s Scripture
• biblical quotations and reflections on Christ as light, life and rescuer
