Known by Name
We all experience times where we feel forgotten. Perhaps you’ve lived through long, drawn-out seasons of loneliness. Maybe you’ve lost touch with close friends you thought you’d know forever. Or has a journey through illness or physical limitations separated you from the usual pace of life?
When God’s people needed reassurance during a particularly dark, difficult time in their history, He told them: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by
name; you are mine” (ISAIAH 43:1). I know your name; I know who you are. This assurance gave great weight to the promise that followed: “I will be with you” (V. 2). No matter what
troubles His people might face, God would be there.
God has not changed. We receive the same message of hope from Jesus today. Through His death and resurrection, He has overcome all the brokenness of this world—and in
your life. Now He promises: “Surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age” (MATTHEW 28:20).
Seen. Known. Loved. This is our Saviour. We pray these readings and reflections help you to rest in the assurance He gives to every single person who puts their faith in Him.
